Moving from a highly successful corporate career into real estate, can be challenging.
It’s like being 5 years old again and learning to ride a bike. You’re studied and sat your exams. You have the knowledge to become a successful real estate agent. The state thinks so otherwise they wouldn’t of granted you, your license. Then suddenly the training wheels are off and you being your wobbly entry into the world of real estate.
The corporate you still clings to the professionalism and scripted company image you have followed for years. It doesn’t sit quite right when dealing with clients who are mot often not only financially but emotionally pouring themselves into the purchase they are about to make. The mummy version of you is great fun, your children love her, just she conflicts with corporate you and doesn’t really seem to have the level of professionalism you expect yourself to have as a real estate agent.
You’re self confidence begins to ebb and with it so does your authentic voice, that you were once so assured of.
Second guessing, question every decision you make, fearful of how those around you perceive you, become part of your every day. You’re doing well, you are seeing some success, but you keep comparing it to the levels of success you have seen in the past. In a different industry, a different environment and you’re almost afraid to let go an truly embrace being able to achieve the same levels of success in your future as a realtor.
There’s nothing wrong with the person you are putting out there in the world, she is nice, relatable. She has knowledge and is eager to help. But she just isn’t quite 100% you. So what do you do?
You need to start rebuilding your self-confidence, to acknowledge yourself for you skills and ability and be happy to know the path you are walking is the right one and you need to own it.
Here are 3 great tricks to help you start rebuilding your self confidence straight away:

Stop putting things off
If you were to be honest with yourself right now, you will know there is at least 1 thing that you continually put off doing. it might be something that you routinely put off, with the thought that you will do it later, when you have time. It doesn’t need to be real estate related.
Whatever it is, make it priority number 1 and make it happen. The quickest way to achieve this is by making it the firs thing you tackle in the morning.
Break it down
Having a picture, a big dream or a big goal is great but it can also become overwhelming and daunting. Work out how you can break this down into manageable smaller chunk as starting working on the small things. Before you know it you will have made massive progress to achieving that big project but without the overwhelm.
Completely the smaller tasks will give you a sense of achievement and will soon added up to you achieving that big goal.
Practise Gratitude
Spend time each day being thankful. You can start with the things you already have, like your beautiful children, the roof over your head. But start working in being grateful for the things you are working towards.
Give thanks as if you already have them and really visualise yourself as if it has already come to be. It’s a hugely rewarding experience to spend time thinking about all you have to be thankful for and it helps you focus on a positive state of mind, which will help with how you view yourself.
If you focus in on becoming consistent in incorporating these into your day, you will find that you will begin to align yourself with your true authentic voice and will have the confidence needed to own her in her entirety.
