Whether they are already talking to you, or just deciding too. Every single prospect will have a series of questions. They’ll run through subconsciously before making the decision on whether to work with you.
Why is this person a real estate agent?
What is it they can do for me?
What makes them unique or better than the other 100’s of agents who want my business?
Why should I choose this person as my real estate agent?
These are the exact same questions you are likely to ask yourself subconsciously. Every time you enter into what we call the buying cycle for anything. Just like now, as you are reading this post. You may not realise it but you are probably weighing up whether this is the right fit for you. Who is this person? What is it she knows that could be valuable to me? Why should I listen to what she has to say?
If you are fed up with working with a complete mishmash of clients. Running from location to location. From starter homes to luxury properties or just having to work with someone you really don’t gel with. Then the chances are; 1. you are not staying turn to your values or 2. you don’t know what your core values really are.
This one small thing, is greatly overlooked in real estate. Yet it has the potential to be a powerful source in finding, attracting and working with the “perfect clients”. The ones that make real estate feel easy. Who get you and who are happy to sing your praises to just about anyone who will listen.
Knowing your core values and aligning them to your real estate business has the ability to grow your GCI faster than anything else.
Why is it so important?
Our emotions are directly linked to our value system. By uncovering your core values. You are able to align yourself perfectly with what you truly believe in. Be passionate, focused and offer a level of service that is unrivalled. Because it is uniquely your own.
Your values have the power to make you memorable, instead of mundane. They also have the ability to resonate with clients because they share similar values. This is where the real magic happens.
Knowing your values allows you to communicate a strong and powerful message. Directly to the heart of the clients you love working with the most.
When you find yourself in a relationship or transaction that doesn’t align with your values. Letting go of it is easy. You know why it’s not the right fit and you don’t waste valuable time trying to please people you can’t.
Time and energy instead is given to those who want to work with you. Love everything about you and will result in closing a deal.
What happens if you don’t uncover your core values?
Unfortunately you will be in for a tough ride.
Wasting countless hours with people who have no intention of completing a transaction through you. Often to your detriment. I know of agents, who have spent countless hours, providing clients a supreme level of service. Furnishing them with all the facts, making introductions to lenders, appraisers, and other service providers. Only for the client to turn around thank them for it. Then walk straight up to another agent and complete the transaction with them. Using the knowledge they had gained.
That is a low blow if ever the was one.
Even if it doesn’t get that far. You are likely to pour your heart and soul into something that becomes 10 times harder than it needs to be. Miss out on personal commitments. Lose money you have invested in achieving the sale and more than likely become disillusioned and disheartened with the industry.
If you stay on that path. You’ll either spend you tine working hard for the little money you can make, or quit altogether because you can endure any more.
This is why uncovering your core values is essential to your real estate success
