Being authentic in real estate isn’t about what car you drive or clothes you wear.

It doesn’t require you to have been a first time homebuyer to sell start homes to young couples or families. It’s not about driving a luxury SUV in order to secure luxury listings.

Just because you don’t wear Gucci or Prada doesn’t mean you can’t list or sell that 6 million dollar home.

Being authentic is about being true to yourself. It’s about know who you are and what you stand for. When you know that you are able to communicate those values in everything you do.

Sure you can drive a nice car. You can wear nice clothes. Even get your hair done in your favourite hip salon every month. Yet if you’d doing it because you think it will attract clients to you, then you’re doing it for the wrong reasons.

First time homebuyers aren’t looking for someone who owns a house. They are looking for someone who can guide them effortlessly through the process of that first home buying experience. Who is supportive, kind, knowledgable. They want someone who will hold their hand and not look at them like they are dumb when they ask questions that “everyone should know”

Luxury home owners, don’t need you to own a home the same size or value as theirs. They want someone who appreciates the finer details of their property that justify the value. Because the likelihood of it matching up on a per square foot price is slime.

It’s not about what you know either. It’s how you convey that knowledge to others. They want someone who is natural, at ease, comfortable in handling the sale of their property. Wearing Prada will not make you comfortable.

Be authentic in real estate

You can be the most experienced real estate agent around. Yet, if you are not being yourself and marketing yourself truthfully you will only ever get so far.

Being authentic, isn’t a magic pill that’s going to get your every luxury listings, and you probably won’t sell every first time buyer their starter home. However what it will do is attract a genuine group of clients to you, that love work with you. Become your number one fans and who will create far less stress and anxiety. Being authentic means you will save time and energy and stop trying to second guess everything, because the people you are working with, also want to work with you.

Closing a deal and getting across that final finishing line can be challenging even in the best of sales. yet when you are working with people who resonate with you, it won’t be anywhere near as difficult as when you are working with clients you just can’t seem to gel with no matter what you do for them.

There are difficult conversations that often need to be had, even in with those dream transactions. Yet when you are communicating from a place of authenticity those conversations become far less difficult to have.

So whilst we all want to look professional. Well put together and as though we know what we are doing. Don’t focus all your efforts and energy on what you wear or drive. Don’t worry about other preserve you. Just focus your time on who you are, what you stand for and what you know you can deliver.
